Five Months...Plus a Little (lots of pictures)

Well, since I have been such a bad blogger I have some making up to do! Evie baby turned 5 months old on June 30. I can hardly believe how the time flies. She is such a joy! Here a little update on what life is like at 5 months......Evie is a growing girl. She is about 26 inches and 15 pounds. She still doesn't have much hair, but the hair that is there looks strawberry blonde. Watch out world we have another red head! Her eyes are changing colors, but we aren't sure if they are going to be green like Mommy's or brown like Daddy's.
...Everywhere we go every one says she looks just like Scott.
...She loves to be the center of attention and she has learned how to get your attention in the rare occasion that she doesn't already have it. She loves to sing, talk, giggle, and scream for fun!
...Her teacher at daycare (who has been doing this for 40 years) says she is absolutely the happiest baby she has ever been around. They always ask if she can stay just a little bit longer when I come to pick her up...she is so loved!...She is such a ham...laughing and entertaining everyone around us. She especially loves new faces.
...We haven't started any solid food yet (still just nursing), but she is getting very interested. She loves to drink water and prefers a sippy cup over her bottle.

...She grabs everything she sees. She loves to inspect everything. She is very curious and has to know what is going on around her at all times. Some of her favorite things are the remote control, cell phones and drinks....This leads to the fact that she is not much of a napper. If she takes a 30 minute nap in the morning and a 30 minute nap in the afternoon it has been a really good nap day!

...She is extremely mobile. She gets where she want to go by scooting or rolling. She will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. She will be off to the races before we know it.

...She only likes the swing if she is tired, so I guess she is growing out of it. She loves her Baby Einstein. She has figured out exactly what each toy does and will progressively make her way around the circle playing with each toy....She also loves her jumper. She jumps and jumps while pressing all of the buttons and giggling. There is nothing sweeter than her laugh.

...She can sit up without any support, so she loves to sit in the floor and play with her toys. One of here new favorites is her barnyard full of animals that sing and play songs. I am amazed at how she figures out exactly what to do with each aspect of her toys. She is such a smart cookie!
...She loves anything to do with water. Swimming is the highlight of her day, so we try to go often. She loves to put her face under the water and kick around in her float.

...Bathtime is another favorite. She kicks her legs the entire time she is in the bath. I am usually soaked from head to toe by the time we are finished.
...Playing supergirl with her Daddy is another fun game. He holds her up over his head and sings a song about supergirl. I will try to get a video of this because it is sure to make you smile!
...No teeth yet, but we are expecting one any day now. She is drooling a ton and can't keep her hands out of her mouth. It feels like the little jewel will be popping through soon....She loves our dogs. She loves to pet them...and sometimes pull their hair, but they adore her.

She is such a blessing. It is so much fun to watch her grow and develop her sweet little personality. We are so excited about everything to come.

Lindsey-
I'm so glad we've found each other's blogs...such a great way to keep up with the little ones. Evie is so precious! And, for sure, she looks like Scott.
